How do I update the ST-3/XT3 firmware?

How do I update my firmware?

To benefit from all the latest features and bug fixes, Probewell Lab suggests that firmware updates on XT Series testers be performed periodically. The latest XT Series Firmware is always available on the Probewell website.

Follow the instructions on your Probewell Connect User Guide.

IMPORTANT

Probewell firmware update cable uses an FTDI integrated circuit and this technology has been around for many years. To maintain the cable in good working order, Probewell recommends using the manufacturer latest version of the FTDI driver.

A Windows 10 compatible driver is available from the web site.

If your computer has prevented the driver download or the installation process, please contact your IT department.

Firmware Update Setup

The firmware update for the XT Series testers is done with a proprietary USB update Cable and the Probewell Connect software for Windows 10.

To download and install Probewell Connect for Windows 10, please visit the Probewell Connect 2.0 page.

A computer running under Windows 10 does not need to be connected to the wireless network of the XT Series tester to perform the firmware update. The update process is done over a physical connection with the USB Update Cable.

USB driver installation

This driver supports the Windows 10 operating system.
1. Check that your PC is connected to the internet.
2. Connect the Update Cable to a vacant USB port on your PC.
3. A notification should appear in the system tray. It should indicate that the driver software is installing.
4. Wait for the driver to download and install. This should take a few minutes at most.

If the automatic installation of the driver is not successful, please contact Probewell Support at the following e-mail address: support@probewell.com
